Bethesda Fountain, the latest glory of the New York Central Park, was public? ly unveiled Saturday afternoon, in the presence of a very large number of* citi? zens. This work of art is* from models designed and executed at Rome by Miss Emma Stebbins, daughter of Henry G. StebbinB, President of the Board of Park Commissioners. The design of the fountain was suggested to Miss Stebbins by the passage in Scripture describing the pool of Bethesda, The Last op the Line.?The Wash? ington Star remarks that Chief Justice Chase waB the last of his line; that neither he nor his brothers?who all died before him?left any male descend? ants, and that therefore his branch of tho family name will become extinct. The same may be said of his two illus? trious predecesaors, Judges Tahey and Marshall, and this makes of the matter a enrious coincidence. Bishop Dcggett, of Virginia, is to pre? side over the District Conference for the Montgomery ?
