THE BAILY 'Let oar inst Cerrores BY J. A. SELBY. COLUMBIA, S. C., SATURDAY MORNING. MARCH 30, 1872. VOL. VIII-NO. 9. A ROYAL NUN -A Vienna corres? pondent of the London Times writeB an account of. the entry of a member of the imperial family at a nunery uiider very peculiar circumstances. Tho lady in question is the Infanta'Maria Beatriz, tbe youngest Bieter uf the Duh'- of Mo den a. Ou the morning of the 12th inst., this lady entered, nuder the name of Sister Marie, tho Vienna Ursuline Cou? rent. Hbo waa born in 1824, and in 1847 married tbe Infante J.hann, and bsB three children, two of whom are living at Frohsdof. Within the last three years she has repeated'y journeyed to Rome to obtain from the Pope a special permission to enter a convent; but on the grounds that she was mar ried, that her husband was living, that she had children, even grand children, this was steadily refused ber. But she persevered, notwithstanding the earnest wishes of her children, aud at length succeeded. Cases of married women ob? taining permission to enter nunneries of strict and secluded order ure very rare. The fact that this lady was married, und had married children snd n husband living, added to the fact that she was closely connected with the sovereign's family, has caused tho caseto he regard? ed and commented on with extraordi? nary intorest. The deliberate manner in which Chi? cago ia being rebuilt is thus illustrated in un exchange: "Let mo Bee," said a Chicago boss mason r? flectivel> to a burnt out merchant, **huvo got to pnt up a block for Brown, this morning, aud a dwelling-house, this afternoon, for1 Smith. Yes, I guess we eau jerk up your store this noon by takiu' only halt an hour's noon i o'." Sl^o o xa-1 Notloea DR.
