Apart from the political organization needed in this State, in order to our po? litical reform and our return to oheerful self-government, we need a more tho? rough organization in respect to our in? dustrial interests. At this time we huve in Anderson, Abbeville, Charleston, Barnwell and Richland well organized agrioultural and moohauical societies. In Anderson,' Abbeville and Burnwell local fairs are now hold annually. We notice, further, that no agricultural and mechanical society for Chester has boon formed, and that ia several other Counties it is proposed to form similar )ssooiations. We have now to remark lhat these movements point to tho orga? nization needed in this State. With on industrial society in each County in the State, and these made to harmonizo with the State Agricultural aud Mechanical Society, wo would have an organization that would bo of vast benefit to the State. No bettor way is there to bring capital aud numbers to the State than nt a groud central fuir at the capital to show thu varied products of our fields, und the general resources of the State in tho departments of agriculture aud manu? facturers. "A PIIETTY Goan TIME."-Tho Re? publicans of Hamilton County, Ohio, while they cherish a commendable liking for colored votes, seem to be a little shy of colored candidates. The Cincinnati ?Commercial seems to be worried on thc -subject, and treatti the matter thusly: "Nor do we now intend to make coloi a test of fitness for office. We will vote for colored men, provided they art honest and capable, or botter than theil opponents, when the tickets with whiot the only practicable voting is done nrt in the field, bat it is our judgment thal this is a pretty good time for coloree men to deoline running for office in Ha milton County. One reason is that tin race is likely to be pretty close, and tba there is uot only something left of tin old prejudioo against colored people ai such, but divisions amoug tho coloree people themselves, such that colore* candidates would bo almost certain ti suffer perilously from so doing." Tuero is n certain voluptuousness of langungo aud description, which is ouly surpassed by the intoxicating "Earthly Paradise" of Morris, and which Btamps tho author as capable of tho 1 highest ideal conceptions. The greatest I variety of reviews which have been : launched forth against the unpretending volume, provo a wide diversity of opi? nion, and something more. That "Home ' thing" is tho fact of Mr. Woolworth's Southern sympathies, and the abusive and contemptible thrusts of the vile Ila I dical shoots here may be truced to this cause. A Northern mun by birth, ho sold everything hore and went South in tho commoncemeut of tho war, where he entered tho secret service, aud did most effective work until his arrest by the United States Government. But bars und bolts could not alter his sentiments and principles, and to-day he is as hot a rebel as can be found in Dixie. It is openly charged that tho present head of the ellice has kept the payments in u stat? of suspense for months, which has caused tho holders of checks to soil out at a shameful reduction. Fine.-Ou lust Sunday, a dwelling house, on tho plantation of Mrs. Ervin, nour this place, occupied by Mr. Joseph Heustiss, was burned, together with three out-houses adjoining.
