(?) Henry Ward Beeoher, at Plymouth Church, on Sunday last. It must have been equal to a first clans theatre, and surpassed uuythiug ever witnessed at a political meeting. Such preaching ought to "draw," for Brother Beecher seemed to put all of his hearers in a good hnmor, and they went their way satisfied, doubtless, that they had been favored with a raro entertainment. The Herald says: "Yesterday Brother] Beecher abandoned tho sombro stylo of delivery with which be had surprised his fashionable congregation for some weeks past, and was himself again. Perhaps he had grown alarmed at tho approach? ing revival of the 'Blnok Crook,' and de? sired to give sinners a conntcr attraction which would wean them from tho mere? tricious influences of that pestiferous drama. But whatever his reasons wero, it is certain that his sermon was not only sorio-comical in its langnage, but that it afforded a sublimo opportunity, which was not lost, for Brother Beecher to ex? hibit his powers ns a comedian.
