The Journal reminds us that "Twioe hos tho precedent now been established, that tue majority in Con? gress may exclude members elect whom they don't like, and admit their rivals. This dangerous principle is capable of indefinite extension, and, if pushed muoh further, as it probably will be, will result in making a complete farce of all Congressional elections, and enabling whatever party has control of Congress to pack that body with Us oicn tools, lt is one of the deadliest of all the blows struok at popular government in this country. There is not an honest mau of any party who does not feel that it is a wrong and an outrage, whether it makes for his side or not. It is uo satisfactiou to us that it will surely return some day, like a curse let loose, to plaguo its in? ventors. A young lady, named Margaret Da bough, residing in Harrisburg, Pa., waa slightly bitten on tho finger by a emull dog, several weeks ago; and ou Saturday last, died from hydrophobia. POLLOCK'S.-Meals furnished at all hours. A colored man, named Samuel Jami? son, has boen arrested in Orangeburg, charged with hastening the death of his wife by ill-treatment.
