Cannot some one be found, thoroughly "postal vp," (and will keep himself informed,) who will nppn an nftieo far tho "rnoiat.rn tion" of employers . and employees, without distinction as to "race, color or former condition," and where the "antecedents" as to character, re? sponsibility, ?co., may be ascertained, and mutual benefits conferred. The "mule and forty acres" delu? sion will soon be dispelled, and a large number of our colored people will desire to make an honest living, by honest work, for hvnest wages. It is believed that an offer of this kind, properly and'judiciously con? ducted, will go far in superseding the necessity of importing foreign labor, of which we hear so much said. Tho suggestion is made by ono who, if he knows himself, ia the friend of both RACES. THE ELECTIONS.-As a matter of general imformation, we re-publish tho following extract from tho orders of Gen. Tho New York Tribune says "the name Ku Klux is said to be derived from the noise of tho cooking of a rifle, and is significant of shooting at sight." Whereupon the New York Times observes: "The man who drew that name from the click of tho ham? mer of a rifle, must havo had a fine and accurate imagination. Is the Tribune sure the namo is not derived from the ducking of a hen, and sig? nificant of matronly satisfaction over tho condition of her brood? It sounds much moro like it. We wonder tho Tribune did not recognize the sound at once."
