the Constitution. The additional tax
upon tho people to be raised next
?efrr, will bo $985,000-both of which
elng added to the present tax,, Will

$2,000,000. These disclosures make
the peoplo stand aghast, and it is
universally contended that it cannot
be done; and the enormous taxation
alone, if nothing else, will make the
people reject the new Constitution.
Heretofore the State taxes, leaving
out County taxes and interest on the
State ' debt, hare never been more
than $300,000. .
