It is re? ported that several persons were killed. ANNAPOLIS, February 29.-Tho Ma? ryland Legislature, after protesting against the rejection of Thomas, re? solved to meet on Monday, to elect an acceptable Senator. ? . Interesting from Washington. WASHINGTON, February 29.-There is great interest about articles of im? peachment, but uo excitement. Quo warmnio papers are withheld for further exam in nt iou of law; but will be certaiuly filed early next week. Under the present ruling, Stanton will have a mouth to preparo his Answer. Tho following aro the impeach? ment articles: 1. The removal of Stanton, with an intention to violate the Constitution and laws. 2. Ap? pointment to the War Secretaryship, with a like inteut, one Lorenzo Thomas. 3. Conspiracy with Thomas and others uukuowu to prevent Stan? ton, by intimidation and threats, from the execution of his office. 4. Conspiracy, with Thomas und others to prevent and hinder the execution of tho tennre-of-office bill. 5. Ap? pointment of Thomas, while the Se? nate is in session. G. Conspiracy with Thomas to seize the property of the United States, contrary to tho Act of January, 18(51. 7. Conspiracy with Thomas and others, to ojoet Stanton from the War Office. 8. Conspiracy to take possession of tho property of the United States iu the War Office. 9. -Giving a .letter to Thomas, instructing him to take pos? session of tho War Office. 10. Per? suading Gen. Emory that tho law re? quiring an order from the President and Secretary of War, should come through the General of the armies. Tho House saves the privilego of presenting other charges to sustain .impeachment, and replyiug to the President's answer to the above teu cha. gos. Nine charges simply bring charges iu Stautou's removal. Tho tenth applies to Emery's interview, wherein the President asked: "Am I to understand that the President of the United States cannot give nn order but through the General-in Chief, or Gen. Grant?" After say? ing yes, Emery withdrew. It is stated that Stanton had re? stored the Freedmen's Bureau to Kentucky. -* ? m Congressional. WASHINGTON, February 29.-In the Senate, the proceeduro in impeach? ment was under co nsideration. There is considerable difference of opinion regarding details manifested, but repeated motions to adjourn were defeated by decisive majorities, show? ing a disposition to completion. lu the House, after privato busi? ness, tho impeachment articles were introduced aud discussed to ad? journment. Tho galleries were not crowded to-day. Stanton remains at the War De? partment constantly.
