PHBPKTTJAI, MOTION.-The' Peters? burg Express says Mr."WVDi Wright, of that city,' has invented a machine that cornea nearer perpetual motion than anything we have read or heard of, and all it lacks is - the proper machinery to make it perfect, for which pur poso he will viait Baltimore next week. His model consists of two boxes about' four inches apart, .which contain the machinery, con? nected with two tracks, one with a grade of two and a half inches, and the pther about ona inch. The ball used ia a canister shot found on the battle-field, April 2, 1865, and weighs six ouncea, which ia placed upon the top track and started. It passes through the box down on the lower track into the other box, causing a bell to strike as it passes through to the top trank, and continues on as long as tho ball remains on the track. Thia is certainly a curious invention. The elephant Horneo, who recently killed hia keeper at Hatborongh, still continues in auch a froward mood, that it ia impossible to pacify him. Ho ia confined in a pen made of stout i timbers, and no one dare enter bis den. He commits some very curious pranks. Mr. Forepaugh states that Borneo coat him 940,000, and, of course, he is anxious to have such a valuable piece of property brought to terms.
