Meade desires Dr. Angrier to say to the Convention, that be is clearly of the opinion, that they are entitled to draw their pay and Convention ex? penses from tho State Treasury, aud that he will endeavor, as soon as possible, to remove tho obstructions now existing to their being paid. WASHINGTON, January 9.-lu the Senate, a memorial was presented, asking au appropriation for the re? lief of freedmen in the District; also asking for female suffrage in the Dis? trict; also from 5,000 baud loom ope? ratives, asking exemption from taxa? tion. The Ile isa bili to prevent fraud in whiskey revenue passed, with an amendment striking out tho words "in bond," making tho provi? sions apply to all whiskey. A peti? tion from the Alabama Constitutional Convention, praying for tho removal of Gov. Patton, for political disabili? ties, was presented. Morton called up a resolution instructing the Judi? ciary Committee to report a bill abro? gating existing State Governments in the rebel States and providing proper Governments in lieu thereof.
