MOBILE, September 6.-Two cases of yellow fever have been sent to the hospital from tho schooner Dawn, lately from Tampico. No cases ori? ginating in the oity are reported. Tho New York State census, of 18(55, showed that whilo the nativo citizens increased nearly four per cent, during the previous ten years, I there has been a corresponding de? crease of every foreign element, ex? cept German. Tho negro population has been diminishing for twenty-five years; whilo the Indians, upon re? servations, have increased. The na? tive citizens form exactly two-thirds of the population. Tho English Government has pub? lished a Blue Book containing the diplomatic correspondence concern? ing tho Alabama claims. According to tho latest of the despatches published, that Government declared its readi? ness to submit to a commission of arbitration tho claims of the United States against England, if, at the same time, the claims of English citizens against the United States would bo submitted. A tremendous swarm of grasshop? pers recently visited San Gorgouio Pass, California, and its vicinity, and stripped tho fruit trees of their foliago, devoured the grass and every kind of herbage, and mado sad havoc in tho gardens. A little girl, named Florence Lu? cinda Story, only three years and eleven months old, is astonishing the people in Essex, where she lives, and of Salem, with her wonderful musical talent. In the city of Davenport, Iowa., there is invested in various kinds of manufacturing the sum of $1,538,200, producing annually articles to the valne of $2.281,500. A sample of pig iron from Oregon, the first made on the Pacific Coast, is on exhibition at San Francisco, by J.
