Shawneetown is submerged, and the wharf boat is crowded with unfortu? nate refugees. NASHVILLE, March 26.-Brownlow has commissioned u negro captain in the State Guard. MEMPHIS, March 26.-The National Bank is in the hands of the receiver. Depositors are safe: but it is said the State loses heavily. Congressional. WASHINGTON, March 26.-In the House, a resolution ordering a survey for ii ship canal around Louisville Falls was passed. Butler and Bingham, in personal explanations, assailed each othei furiously. Butler had examined thc evidence for other purposes than proving Mrs. Surratt's unjustifiable hanging, and said the memorandum book, in which Booth kept day bj day his thoughts, plans and motives, taken from his dead body, was with? held, though his pipe, spurs anci knife were prsented to the court. This memorandum book was in th( possession of the Judiciary Commit tee, with eighteen pages of entries made prior to Lincoln's assassina tion, cut out. Butler wanted to knov was that book complete when it fel into the bauds of the Government and why was this diary withnell from the court? Docs it not chargi the gallant soldiers who sat in tin court with wrong? They did not se the diary; otherwise, they would hav judged differently. Who spoiled tba book? Who suppressed that evi dence? Who caused that iunoccn woman to be hanged? There is stil in the diary words written a fe\ hours before Booth's death.
