WHAT INDUSTRY WILL DO.-The Waco, Texas, Register says last year a young mau living near that place let his name be known-Albert Sears, rented a piece of good land, hired one good old freedman, and with his own hands, went to work to culti? vate the soil. He worked manfully and j well. And now for the fruits of his | industry. He has gathered twenty four bales of cotton, 2,000 bushels of corn, and made 400 gallons of molas? ses from sorghum. He also has some pork to spare. He has sold 1,600 bushels of corn for 81,200 in gold, obtained 8300 for his molasses, and his cotton is good for 81,800. He was at some trifling extra expense j during cotton-picking time. ABOLITION OF USURY LAWS IN MAS?
