I saw dimly. My opera glass was too strong. It made me nervous. I looked about and saw much ghosts on the roof. Felt quite grave. Felt like coughin'! Many ghosts. Didn't see tho meteors. Then I knew she was from tho spirit land. Thc moon began to strengthen, but it came not to a foons. The gentle zephyrs zephyred like the devil-or ? words to that meaning. I felt a I coldness creeping over me. No me? teors yet. Thc ghosts chattered all j about mo. I felt rheumatism. The opera glass grew lighter-both bar reis. I found a chimney top. It j felt generous. It gave ont a sub- ? dued warmth, it was a brick chim? ney, therefore I sat on it. No me? teors yet. The .'.tars began falling back like Sigel. I thought it was strategy to induce the meteors to i advance. The chimney felt a little warm. I emptied tho bottles and I threw the corks at a red-headed ghost without a waterfall. I remembered, that tho Fire Com? missioners were to ring a bell ten times to wake me up when meteor ; died, and like a ship on a billow, a child in a bath tub, a lien on her nest, or a Butler taking his spoons. 1 ; slept like a babe across its grand- ' mother's knee, getting warmth where j I needed it. No meteors yet. I slept. But not loug. I smelt something. It awoke me. Thought it was a meteor. Says J, "Bully fur ; scieuee!" The smell increased. I [ grew nervous, but could not tell where. I was in a bog. A meteor had struck-[ knew it. Things were \ barning. And I had no accident J policy. The world was on fire. I didn't see the meteor, but the doctors saw it. Jt was inflamed-red liol. I think I .shall not sic on a chimney-or on anything elsi-for many days. Xo more meteors for me!
