DON'T WANT TO DE CITIZENS.-At a
Conference between a committee of
the Rhode Island Legislature and the
Narragansett tribe of Iudians, a few
days ago, at Charlestown, R. I., the
red men declined to become citizens
of the State under the civil rights
bill. They do not wish to vote. This
onco famous tribe has dwindled to
133 persons, and there is a good deal
of negro blood among them. They
now exist as au independent commu?
nity, under the guardianship of the
State, electing their own officers and
making their own laws. They own
about 3,(X)0 acres of land.

A NEW AND GUANO EPOCH IN MEDICINE.
Dr. Maggiel is the founder of a new medi?
cal system! The quantitarians, whose vast
internal doses enfeebles the stomach and
j paralyze the bowels, must give precedence
to thc man who restores health and anno
1 tito, wi. h from one to two of his ext raordi
j nary Pills, and cures tho most virulent
sores with a box or so of his wonderful and
all-healing Sah e. These two great speci?
fics of the Doctor arc fast superseding all
tho stereotyped nostrums of the day. Ex?
traordinary cures br Maggiel's Pills ami
Salve have opened tho eyes of the public tc
the inefficiency of the (so-called) remedies
of others, and upon which people have si
long blindly depended. Maggiel's Pills art
not of thc class that ari- swallowed by tin
dozen, and of which every box full takei
cr?ales an absolute necessity for another
One or two of Maggiel's Pills suffices 0
place the bowels in perfect order, tone tin
stomach, create an appetite and render th?
spirits light and buoyant. There is ni
griping and no reaction in the form nf eon
stipatiou. If the liver is affected, its fnnc
lions are restored: and if the nerv&us sys
tem is feeble, it is invigorated. This his
quality makes the medicines very desirabl
for the wants of delicate females. Ulcerou
and eruptive diseases are literally exAin
guished by the disinfectant power of Mag
