Bulwer'a "Money" was given last night by Mr. Barrett's compony, In the same even and finished style which bas thus far marked all the plays which they have presented on our boards. There was a good audience present, and the frequency and warmth of the ap? plause showed their delight at the acting. Miss lone Burke's, "Clara Douglaa" was an exquisite personation. Tonight wo are to have "King Henry VIII." The Hlbernicon. McEvoy's Hibernlcon was attended by a fair audience at the Hibernian Hall last evening. The entertainment ls a pictorial illustration of the catural and artificial attractions of Ire? land, combined with delineations of Irish life and txusic, which, altogether, afford a very agreeable method of passing an evening. Mr. Acton Kelly, aa Barney the Oulde, made some good exhibitions of Irish wit and humor, and kept the audience In good spirits. The per? formance concluded with the mirth-provok? ing comedy entitled, Irish Hearts. The enter? tainment will be repeated ibis evening. TELE FAMADE AND TILT OF THE MOUNTED GLUMS. The weather yesterday was olear and oold and suited admirably for the parade of the mounted clubs, which In obedience to the sommons assembled promptly at the corner of Bogard street and Rutledge avenue. The German Hussar Tilting Club, Captain H. Wohlken, turned oar thirty-two strong. The nnllorm consists of a short cavalry coat of dark gray clotb, trimmed with yellow cord across the breast and around the skirt collar and tleeves, with three rows of ball buttons down the front; pants of the s<>tr9 material, with yellow stripes down the legs; a black Al? pine bat looped up on the left side with crof sed cabres, surmounted by a long yellow pluue and long buff gauntlets. The Charleston Social Mounted Club, Cap? tain Thomas O'Brien, appeared In lia neat uniform, consisting of gray pants and Jacket, trimmed with yellow cord, and a black Alpine bat caught up on the left side with a yellow rosette, and flying a black plqme. This club paraded thirty men. The detachment of the Charleston Light Dragoons Sabre Club, which was expected io participate la the parade, waa unavoidably prevented from doing BO, and apprised Cap* lain Woblken ot the lact by letter. The clubs were both well mounted. Meta's brass band was In attendance, and took position at the head of the column. Captain O'Brien being the senior officer took command ol the squad? ron, which marched down Rutledge aveone, through Calhoun and Klag streets to Hasel, thence through Meeting and Broad to East Bay, where it filed to ihe left pursuing the march through Market and Meeting streets up to the Schmzenplatz. A substantial cold collation bad been prepared lhere by ibe keeper ot the grounds, Mr. Henry Thee. The clubs and their gueBls being seated, Capt tin Wohlken extended a warm and cordial wel? come to the Social Mounted Club. Captain O'Brien responded, congratulating ihe Hussars upon their successful organlaation and hand? some appearance, and offering the health of the officers and members. Tbree cheers were thea ?Iven for each club, ofter which due attention waa given to the repast, . The clubs, alter refreshing themselves, pro? ceeded to the tilling ground, where thirteen members of the Social and eight of the Hus? sars participated lu tho exercise. The Judges were Colonel T. A. Jeffords, and Messrs. C. Llebenrood and Thos. A. Johnson. It was an? nounced that the prize provided lor the Light Dragoons Sabre Club would be withdrawn, BB that club was not represented. The other prizes were a handsome saddle blanket and a fine bridle and martingale complete. The skill ot the riders was tested In cutting down two balls and carrying off a ring with the sabre, while ia a full gallop. Lieutenant F. W. Pieper, of the Hussars, ' made the best run, scoring the twenty-four I points, and therefore won the first prize, the blanket, which was presented by Captain A. Melcher-, of the German Rifle Club. A lie between Lieutenant Louis Dunaemann and Sergeant A. Christopher, ot the Socials, left ll undecided who was ihe winner of the second prize. It being too late tor another run, lt was settled that Captain O'Brien should bold this prize, and that the tie should be solved at a future time. The presentation was made by Lieutenant Ebenhardt, of Ihe Hussars. At the conclusion ot these presentations. Captain O'Brien, in a short and appropriait* speech, presented to the Hussars in behalt of the Socials, a handsome silver service, aa an Indication o? friend ly feeling. It was received I by Captain Wohlken In fliting terms. The clubs then marched down to Shepherd street, where they broke ranks. ANNirEESABT CELEBRAHONS. Union Light Infantry Society. [COMMUNICATED.] Tbe attention wbicb has been recently called to the subject ol prayer, In consequence ot the proposal made not long since by Profes? sor Tyndall, that Its benefits should be tested In a hospital, bas given it a new Interest to the world in general. Mr. Boyd ha?, there? fore, manifested his fidelity BB a religious teacher, io laklug lt up at a crisis In pubilo opinion, as he did last fcunday morning. Taking bis text lrom Matthew 26, 39, be be? gan by presenting tbe two conflicting opin? ions held In regard to tbe efficacy and value of prayer; the one Insisting upon these as op? erative in procuring any desired results, and the other repudiating them entirely, as con? trary to the Immutability ol tbe laws of nature. He then btateu thal lt Bbould be his endeavor tu place them upon a basin of mutual recogni? tion and agreement, as the true inference to be druwo irom their existing antagonism. He explained hence, that Its benefi? cial results are rather 01 tue nature ot a gene? ral reflected good io ibe suppileaior, than accruing aller the manner of a response particular requests. Yet he claimed that lt la uone ihe less necessary as a means ol secur? ing the glfis ol tne Hoiy spirit.
