RADICAL MODESTY AND DECENCY. The following elegant extraet Is from a re? cent speech by J. J. Wright, the negro Judge of the South Carolina Supreme Court, before a mass meeting of colored people In Beaufort County, as reported In the Beaufort Republi? can. It will be noticed that the reporter naively remarks that the most sacrilegious utterance in the whole Indecent harangue "Drought down the house." It was certainly calculated to have that effect, literally: The Judge then gave the convention some very sensible advice in regard to the course they should pursue in placing in office good men; he further stated that white men bad said that tbe colored man was not capable of filllDg a seat upon the supreme bench, but be was giving that the lie. I am the youngest Judge In the United States, said he, and tbe only one that has the honor of being a LL. D.; be then compared the Hon. Robert Smalls with Jesus Christ, and said that the senator would hold the hearts of the people If he was faithful, as the Saviour did, which assertion brought down the house. He enlarged on the subject of the echoo! commissioner, for, said be, the white man can cheat you out of every? thing If you do not acquire education. 1 BEAUFORT COUNTY NOMINATIONS. Both factions of the Radical party in Beau? fort County held their conventions last week, and nominated full county and legislative tickets. LABARMQUE AND Go QUINIUM UB?RRAQ?E Approved by the Imperial Academy ? of Medicine The Qui ni um Labarraque is an eminently tonic and febrifuge Wine, destined to replace all the other preparations of Peruvian Bark. The Bark Wines usually employed inme dicine are prepared from Barks which vary considerably in the degree to which they possess the desired properties. Besides, owing to the manner in which they are pre? pared, these Wines contain scarcely more than the traces of active principles, and these always in variable proportions. The Quintana La barraque, approved by thc Academy of Medicine, constitutes, on the contrary, a m?decine of determined compo? sition, rich in active principles, and on wich Physicians and Patients can always rely. The Quinlam La barraque is prescribed willi great success for persons of weak con? tinuion, or for those debilitated by various exhausting causes or past sickness; for youths fatigued by too rapid growth; for young girls whose development takes place with difficulty; for women in childbirth; and for aged persons enfeebled by years or illness. lt is Hie best preservative against Fevers.
