Tinned and Japanned ware ls now subject co a discount reduced by 6 per cenr, and gaivan zed goods to a discount reduced by 10 per cent. The extraordinary demand lor galvanized iron, iud the high price which lt commands in the narke', accounts for the latter rea action. Tba Allowance on enamelled ware has been diminish? ed by 6 per c nt. Tubes and fittings have slured n a almiar advance. Iron, wire, nails, aud many Hher local producta have ulso risen. Business continu?e aotive in all the hardware branches ind the approach of winter ls giving a stimulus to teason trades, such as gas fittings, lamps, Ac. Tho cabinet brasslounders are again extremely susy, the effect or the recent suis.? not being perceptible. Building operations having been rreatly checked at home, there Is hot au large i consumption of builders' hardware, but the ex iort rf this class or goods to colonial markets a sufficient t > xeep mauuiacturers buoliy em )loyed. In iucal mercantile houses there Is great ictivlty on account or colonial orders, aud al bongh goods have nearly doubled la price m nany instances, this has not pero-pttbly affected MilpraeniB to foreign ports. From the Ua: e or Jood Hope theie are heavy lndeuis to hand ror lomestlc hardware, camping ai d mining utensils ewelry, nails, screens and the like. NORTH OF fcNOLAND IRON AND COAL TRADES. ino Cleveland lrun market i.aa been firmer this veek, and ir anything rates i r pig iron are ligher. No. 3. preseot delivery, stands nominal v at 110*, though the trade, owing to rho limned applies or lrou, ls small. For next year's dellv :ry, lor which some transactions are recorded ibout loos ror No. 3 has been paid. The labur mest lon ls still i he centre or atteni lon. Th e i ron . itone miners, in addition to the advance they )btalaed a short time since, are likely to ask for mother. The Northumberland pitmen have Just jeen advanced 10 per cent., and the Durham pit. nen, after refusing a like amount, have had 15 per cent, conceded for underground men, upon the understanding (ihoogh whittier lt w?> be ob? served remains to oe seen) that they will keep up af ntl production of coal. Then the malleable Iron workers counected with the North of Eng? land Arbitration jBoard are grealy dUaatlsfled that the staffordshire men have upon the ac? countant's average of prices been advanced 20 per cent., while thev have only received 7>i upon the return or Mr. Waterhouse as to the average net selling prices of Iron In the North. There ls some talk of an attempt to be made at the board meeting at Darlington on Monday to alter the basis of the alining scale upon which the present rates or wages are Axed. In all depart? ments of labor counected with the Iron and coal trades the men are virtually the masters of the position, owing to the extraordinary state of prosperity, the like of which was Hever before witnessed. FiuisUed Iron ls rising, and quota? tions now are: Rails ?11 to ?11 5a; plates ?1210s to ?13; common bars ?12 los to ?12 16a; angle Iron ?12 lo ?12 lbs; paddled bars ?9 to ?0 fis. Tuere ls a fair demand for all c. asses of Iron, and in some cases there remain extensive contracts to be executed, A new branch of manufacture, that of nail making, has been commenced at Middlesboroagh this wees. In the coal trade higher prices mle. The scarcity and thu advane . ol rates in the London and other marmots causen the north country coal, which was the first to rise, to take a higher range, and above ?1 per tun has been recorded as the price to be paid lu one Instance for Urat-class Durham house? hold at the pit. on the Tyne the price ror the best household Is abont 183, and lo Durham, gene? rally, the best household coals cannot be got for less in many cases. The general figure, bow ever, Is moro represented by 14i to 16s per ton at at the pus. Coke ts not altered, beleg quite as dear. MANCHESTER, July 23. COTTON GOODS-The market opens without anl mutton, and as with the raw material, values con? tinue io full slowly but steadily. For all markets thc demaud 1B or the moat limited character. From the eastern parts the advices are moat satisfactory, and lt ls to be feared that before long some had accounts may come from those quarters.* In almost all branches of the cotton trade business ls most unprofitable. For some ttme past the production bas far exceeeded the demand, and prices have shown a continued de? cline. To-day the demand for yarn bas only been limited. Shipping are easier. Buyers show an unwillingness to operare at the rates requir? ed. Home trade yarns have been slow of sale, with considerable irregularity In prices. The business effected has only been of a limited ex? tent. For all description uf goods the Inquiry has been inactive. India and China shirtings ai e lower, with small demand, lu prinil .g cloths stockt are accumulating. Maddapoltams, Jaconets and molls are easier to purcnase. For other makes of cloth the Inquiry ls trifling, with prices Invaria? bly in buy eta' favor. The market at the finish showed no Improvement either la prices or de? mand. Havana Market. HAVANA, July 27. SUGARS.-Our market has continued to exhibit adult appearance this week, owing to the new decline reported from London. Buyers have bien contending for lower prices, limiting their highest offer for D. Si No. 12 clayed or common train to 10). rs. per arrobe, while the majority of sellers have remained firm at previous quotations, say loxan rs., as to class. These values, even with thc high rate of exchanges and comparatively low freights now rollog, are almost out of pro? portion to those ruling in England. The Kales for the week have been moderate. Shipments are aila heavy but comprise cargoes secured during tho past month and beginning of present one. The outport markets are also very quiet and weak irom the esme cause referred to aoove. ?tocks ofall sugara?are becoming scant of desirable kinds, and this In a great measure accounts for the firmness of holders. Muscovado, ce ut ri i ugat and molasses sugars are, as well as cia;ed, dealt with to meet the small wants of a few shippers who need them to fill up their ves? sels now loading. The nominal quotations at-tne close are as follows : Clayed sugar-, Nos 7 to 10, at 8)?alo rs per arrobe; clayed sugars, Nos ll to 12, at lo&aiox rs per arrobe; clayed nugara, Nos ia to 16, at lo'.aii>; rs p r arrobe; clayed sugars, Noa 16 to 20, at I2al4 rs per arrobe; clayed su? gars, whiten, at l3>?al6J? rs per arrobe; molasses guitars.
