In the District Court yesterday, before Judge Bryan, writsof attachments and monitions re? turnable on the 5th of .August, 1872, at the Greenville Court, against four hundred pounds of tobacco, two horses and wagon found at Laurens County, three hundred and twenty gallons of distilled spirits and three copper stills found at Spartanburg, two barrels ot distilled spirits, mme, horse and wagon iound at Union, aud f>r y gallons of distilled spirits found at Spartanburg. The court was occupied all day in bearing the case of Lawrence Pox vs. the Savannah and Charleston Railroad-action for damages for crunching off the piaintifTs left leg be? tween two cars in an accident on the road, near Greenpond, in December, 1870. SHOOTING AFFRAT AT BLACKVILLE. - An altercation occurred at Blackville, on Monday evening, between Captain E. J. B ack and some of the county officials. During tbe quar rel and lu the eadeavor to keep peace the town marshal, N. F. Turner, and a Mr. Frank Groves were shot by Captain Biaok. The for? mer died In about half an hour. Mr. Groves was shot through the arm, and was not sup posed to be seriously injured. The shooting caused considerable excitement in the visage, and a negro In the crowd struck Captain Black over the bead with an iron bar which rendered him senseless for several hours. The origin of tbe disturbance Is not known, but all was quiet when tbe down train passed Blackville yesteraay.
