THB CROP?.-The weather during the past
week commenced dry and cold, but became
more moderate and unsettled, afterwards
clear and cold, and has not been unfavora?
ble for field work. The report of the Agri?
cultural Bureau for October has been pub?
lished, and speaks more encouragingly cf "?e
crop prospects, arising from the fine fall weather
wttlch has been or a character calculated to re?
trieve, lu a degree, the ur fortunate conditions
existing earlier in the year. Frost has been re?
ported over a considerable portion or the cotton
belt, but its effec has not been s'ated.
THE. RECEIPTS.-The arrivals at the cotton ports
for the week op to Friday last were 101,494 bites,
against 105,430 the week befare and 122,133 last
yea*. At New Orleans the receipts were 30,454
bales, la contrast with 36,672 the season previous.
The total supplies a", the cotton ports from Sep?
tember 1.1371, up to the latest dates, were 722,128
bales, against 859,353 ba'es the year before, show?
ing a decrease of 137,225 ba'es. The receipts at the

during this time, with a good demand prevailing,

Carolina, among which were 35 tierces at 7c, 66 at
7X. 20 at 7X, 133 at 7>i, 198 at 7 9-16, 225 at 7X, 87
at 7X, 3a at 7 13-16, 52 on prlva'e terms. We
