THU CROPS.-The weather ha9 been good for farm work during much of this period, having been dry and ror a part of :he time moderately cool, afterwards warm. Cotton picking bas pro? gressed vnder favorable condition!1, and the atmospheric developments have been calculated to make the most of that staple. The full moon of October having passed without a frost, the period Xor maturing the plant has been extended and may now reach somewhat into November. THE RECEIPTS.-The arrivais st the cotton ports for the week up to Friday last show an Increased movement, and were 93,963 bales, against 82,53%last week, and 82,428 for the time last season. At New Orleans the receipts were 23 476 bales, In contrast vt 1th 24,678 the week of the year before. The total supplies at the cotton ports from September X, 1871, up to the latest dates were 428,389 bales, against491.739 bales the year before, showing a decrease of 64,800 bales.
