The New York Herald, ot Wednesday, In its report of the stock market lor the preceding day, says : The Southern State bonds were unlavorably influenced by a fresh display o: weakness In the South Carolinas, which touched the lowest figures recorded since their restcralion to the call of the Stock Exchange a few years since on the resumption of Interest payments. It seems that a large amount of the bonds had been hypothecated wita the Tenth National Bank, which called the money, and was com? pelled to sell the bonds on account of the de iault or the borrowers of the money. The January and Jnly bonds sold at 49j, and the April and October bonds at 48.1. Pharaoh Garrett, Edward BrowD, Joe White, Ctesar Coles. Thomas Ravenel and Joe Fields, six colored boys, ranging from ten to fourteen years ol age. were arrested yester? day morning by Officers Hood and Hernandez, charged with stealing a lot ol canned toma? toes and bacon Irom Mr. Q-iackenbush's whole? sale store on East Bay. Officer Hood, while walking down Broad street on Thursday morning, was accosted by Pharaoh, who of. fered to sell him lour can3 of tomatoes and one ol oysters at a very low figure. While the two were talking of the price another of the prisoners, Edward Brown, came up, and see? ing what was goiDg ou, charged Pharaoh with having stolen the articles from Mr. Quackenbush's slore. Pharaoh acknowledged that he had, but reminded Brown that he was a.<io implicated lu ibis affair, and had taken charge of two flitches ol' bacon from the same store. Upon hearing these charges, the officer, who was unknown to the thieves, arrested them both. On their way to the Detective office they became very communicative, and told how they had effected the robbery. The party, consisting ol the six boys above named, had gone to the side door of Mr. Quacken? bush's store, and, while the clerks were en? gaged, one of the boys climbed up the railing, and by pushing it back got his hands to a box. In this way they had taken out several cans and one or two flitches of bacon. Some of the party kept watch, and the spoils were divided on the spot. Accompanied by Pharaoh, the officer went in search ot the other boys, and bagged them as they were pointed out by his companion. They were all secured in the Detective office, and seemed to enjoy the scrape hugely. They were taken belore Trial Justice Schroder later in the day, and after an examination, Brown, Garrett and Fields were sent to jail for thirty days on the charge of larceny, White and Colts received a similar sentence for vagrancy, and Ravenel was also sent up for twenty days, he being the youngest of the batch. During their incar? ceration a quarrel arose among the party, and Judging lrom their recrimination?, it ls thought that they are the same crowd who re? lieved Messrs. Knobeloch & Small, about a week ago, of about forty dollars In coppers. THE SAVANNAH FEVER BLOCKADE.-Malls between this city and Savannah now pass re? gularly over the railroad, the blockade having been removed, at least in that particular. CAVALRY PARADE.-The Charleston Mount? ed Social Club made their first appearance in public yesterday afternoon In their new uni? forms and all the pomp and circumstance ol glorious peace. The club assembled at the cbrner of Shepherd and King streets, to the number ol about forty, and marched to the old Militia Parade Ground, near the Magazine, where they spent about two hours In exercis? ing In the drill and various manouvres. The slight shower somewhat incommoded the display, but all who witnessed their departure for the scene of action and their subsequent manoeuvres on the field say a finer body of men never put foot in stirrup before. The club have showed commendable energy and determination, and their appearance yester? day convinced every one that the Charleston Mounted Social Club is a fixed fact, and can show as gallant a set of horsemen as can be found in the State. AT Hrs OLD TRICKS.-Robert Wickles, a notorious offender, was arrested yesterday afternoon by the detectives, charged with stealing a handsome buggy blanket from the office of a practicing physician of this city. The blanket had been lett In the back office hanging on a chair Wednesday morning, and was missed a short time after, under circum? stances wnlch made it eertain that the thief had entered from the rear. Robert Is a pet tiger, reclaimed thief and a favorite spot-boy among the detectives, and at the time of bis arrest was repenting in the virtuous employ and under the eye ot the chief of the detective force. Living In the house adjoining the phy? sician's office, opportunity was afforded, and knowing the pristine lightness of his fingers, the detectives arrested him at once. Robert ls now the picture of injured innocence, and denies everything. He ls held for examina? tion. Hotel Arrivals-? ctober 0. CHARLESTON HOTEL. Gerhard Riecke, city; George Hubbell, Cin? cinnati.
