Early yesterday morning, however, he entered the'policemen's quarters, and possessing himself of a fine new pair of boots attempted to get off with them hid under Ms coat. He was stopped at the gate, and a searou disclosed the hidden plunder. The boots were returned, to the owner, and Henry was locked np In a cell. We are indebted to Dr. F. Peyre Porcher; of this city, for? translation from one of his italian journals, which says that joint stock associations and banks to extend loans to farmers, are attracting great attention throughout Italy, and specially in .Lombardy.-They are 'established under a board of directors, and are formed partly by contribu? tions made to the stock by capitalists and also by large and small proprietors, in proportion to their ability and the aid they require. The loans are made under favorable terms, and the profit ls de? rived from the interest paid by the agriculturist when his crop ls disposed of-the facilities afford? ed him by a corporatlonjgnabllng him to meet the demands which otherwise he would have to negotiate by his unaided Influence with a multi? plicity of factors and small money agents. In the midst of the light, however, Brown drew a six-shooter, and several persons Interfered to prevent bloodshed. Offieer Dsly, of the detective force, now came over, and both the combatants were marched over to the Detective office Mills was duly in? carcerated, and Brown was released, his friend Draine having deposited $10 as security for his appearance this morning before the Mayor along with Mills.
