New York Rice Market.
From the Journal of commerce, January 2: The
market ls steady, but ls not active. We quote ex
a"Xc; sa'es 50 tierces. The stock on hand Is 876
tierces Carolina, and 9200 bags Rangoon, against
1690 tierces and 7829 bags same time last year.
From the World: The call moderate, but with
few supplies to trammel them, sellers continue to
insist pretty firmly on full fermer rates; sales of
20 tierces Carolina at 6Xa7c.
From thc Herald: Carolina was dull and un?
changed. The sales were confined to small lots
within thc range of 6Xa7Xcfor fair to choice.
Rangoon was nominal. Stock to-day, 875 tierces
Carolina, and 9200 bags Rangoon.
