TO Oar Fill nat In tho Country. Tho strides which THE NEWS has made In clr oulatlon, especially in thc country, within thc last twelve months, encourage tts to redouble our efforts to lanko lt such a paper as everybody wants to read, and a visitor which shall be welcomed in every household In thc Slate. There ls no good reason why n live Charleston newspaper, which keeps paco with thc progress and spirit of the day, and ls published nt a price which places lt -within the reach of nil; should not, with proper mall facilities, attain n circulation of Thirty Thousand copies; on<f we cun promise that no cx .crtlons or cntcrprlso shall be wuntlng on our part to make tho regular edition of' this Journal ap? proximate to that figure. As a peculiarly attractive Inducement to the planters of thc Slate to become subscribers to THE NEWS before thc expiration of thc present year, wc have arranged with Messrs. Wnlkc.-, Evans A Cogswell, the publishers of thc " Mural Carolinian," to supply that new and superb agri? cultural magazine, together with THE NEWS, to now subscribers, at the following very low rules: THE DAILY NEWS and the " Rural Carolinian," one year, for six dollars ami fifty cents. THETRI-WEBKI.Y NEWS and thc " Rural Caroli? nian," one year, for four dollars. Subscriptions to thc two publications may bc sent either to thc proprietors of THE NEWS, or to tho proprietors of the "Rural Carolinian." Hut persons desiring to avail themselves of this oiler must do so before tho first of January next, ns thc arrangement will not bc extended beyond that period. Wheu these rates arc contrasted with those of the Charleston papers before thc wnr, whan thc yearly price of a daily was ten dollars, and of a trl-wcckly Ave dollars, In gold, or Its equivalent, wo think wc may fairly claim that THE NEWS has labored to some purpose In thc diffusion of Intel? ligence among thc people ut prices suited to thc ?hanged aspect of thc times.
