There are two power? in Europe not at all satisfied with the present arrangement of tbe map, or with the relations in which the several powers sund to each other. There are too many elements of strife and discord in the present attitude of nations and peo? ples,- dynasties and parliaments; too many unsettled quarrels, too many open questions, to hare a lasting peace. Two or three of the great powers must change their polioy, or the peaoe of Europe will certainly ?om to an untimely end. It may he that God in his inscrutable Providence m*y permit another fratricidal war, ere we shall see this inev itable end; er it may be accomplished by fae peaceful ways of diplomacy, in obedi? ence to the unanimous voice of an entire people. The Sarannah and Charleston Hail road. We are informed that eight hundred men are now at work upon this important railroad, that the Savannah River bridge is already building, and that ere long the hands will be corking simultaneonsly on both ends of the road. The track has al? ready been laid, we believe, to a point some miles beyond Grahamville, and there is good reason for thinking that the road will be open thronghont before the New; Year comes in.
