Au extraordinary freak of our versatile and ecoentrio Governor has just been brought to light through the instrumental? ity of a bill in equity filed in the Court of Common Pleas for Laurens'County, in be? half of the President and Directors of the Bank of the State of South Carolina against the Laurens Railroad Company and others. The bill complains that at a sale, under Sn execution at law, of the rolling stock of the Laurens Railroad Company, (that corpo? ration being insolvent, and the State and the bank being both heavily interested aa creditors in the disposition of its assets,) "a locomotive was sold and knocked off to "hi* Excellency Robert K. Scott, not in hit "official character aa Governor, but to him as "an individual, and that the agent, one Jo "aeph Crews, who aoted for the purchaser, "has proolaimed that he meant to remove, thi "said locomotive, regardless of the para? mount liens of the State and tho bank, "both liens being perfected long anterior tc "the judgment under which the looomoti'vt "was sold."
