City, Floiida, April 13 received hy ono of our promi? nent cotton lactore, says: "We have had strangely cold weather since this month came in, and I still think we shall have frost to injure cotton. Corn was badly hurt ten days ago; tho same may be said of cotton that was up. To-day I have been told by a number of residents of tho county, who aro herc at? tending court, that much of tho cotton that came up is dead, and heaps dyin-i. Mure & Qp. cleared yesterday another of their English ste im line, the British steamship Camilla, Captain Peace, for Liverpool, having on board a cargo of 194 bags of sea island cotton, 1679 bales of upland cotton, 16 bales of tobacco, 610 bags of South Carolina ground phosphates, and 168 barrels rosin-the whole valued at 9941,606 96-100. We are pleased to notice among the cargo of this vessel a shipment of South Carolina ground phosphates, which article is now not only go? ing forward to ali our Horthern elftes, but consider? able shipments a?e constantly taking place to Liver? pool. We learn that a Northern negro bas been appoint? ed postmaster at Bennettsville. ISUBVIVOBS* ASSOCIATION.-The anniversary supper of this association took place last evening at Hibernian Hall. There waa a large attendance of members, and the greatest sociality and good fellow ship prevailed. Among the invited guests was General lt. H. Anderson, who, by bis personal bra? very and skilful generalship, attained the highest rank ot any South Carolinian in the Confederate ser? vice. An elegant supper was provided by Tully, and of course heartily enjoyed. Speeches were made by the President of the socie? ty, Colonel E. L. McCready, Colonel P. 0. paillard, Bev. J. L Girard eau, D. I)., General James Conner, Major Theodore G. Barker, General B. H. Anderson, Colonel O. Irvine Walker, Captain H. G. Young, Colonel B. H. Rutledge, George Bryan, Jr., Ese,., Captain James M. Mulvaney, and others. The en? tertainment closed at too late aa hour to permit of a tull report, but one good thing must be recorded.
