DISTURBANCE IN THE MARKET_Yesterday there was a disturbance in the market, occasioned by a Whiteman, under tho influence ot liquor, interior - ing with a policeman ou duty, and drawing a knif: on him. Tho policeman, it is stated, in self-defence, gave hlmsevoial severo raps on the head, which caused (he blood to flow freely. The offender was, finally, carried to tho guardhouse, and tho crowd dis? persed. BEAL ESTATE HALES.-A. C. McGillivray, auc? tioneer, sold, yesterday, under Decree in Fquity, for Sheriff Mackey, the large brick store, No. 29 Queen street, on lot lorty by one hundred ieet, for $4000; one-fifth cash, balance annually in five years. Leitoh & Bruns sold the throe t tory brick resi? dence, No. 10 Beuufain-street, on lot thirty-one by one hundred and two, tor ?3700, $2700 cash ; balance in ono and two years. THE MILLS HOUSE-It is at last settled, beyond peradventure, that this fine house will bc opened to the travelling public. Two experienced hosts from the West, who have ample means for conducting tho cstiblishmeut on a liberal scale, have concluded negotiations for a five years' lease of the premises, whioh they intend to refurnish in handsome style, io time for tho opening on the 1st of September. The house is to be repainted and generally overhauled and made complete In all its appointments. This la another cheering sign of the marked resuscitation of business in our community. CAROO FOR LIVERPOOL.-Tho fine bark Har? riet F. Hussey left her wharf yesterday, laving a full cargo on board for Liverpool, and came to an anchor in the stream before proceeding to sea. Notwith? standing the fiat condition of the freight market, this vessel had a good freight promptly secured to her by Messrs. W. Boach A Co., consisting of 2091 bales upland cotton, 110 bbls. rosin, and 200 tor.a South Carolina phosphates. This cargo was vain?- f. at $246,648, and weighed 1,390,863 pounds. Her ,e? vedore was Mr. Wm. Smith, who done his work in the most satisfactory manu or and in gcod time. CHARLESTON PRESBYTERY wa9 occupied throughout yesterday in discussing plans for the occupation of tho large field made desolate by the war. .The deliberations were most harmonious, and euvinced a most ardent zeal to supply the religious wants of our surrounding impoverished commun nitiea. To the best of its impaired ability, the Pres? bytery seems determined to meet the great present exigency. The sermon of Mr. Bogga, last night, waa eloquent and effective, based upon the parable of the Prodigal Son-the text being Luke xv. 20, 24. The Rev. C. S. Vedder is expected to preach to-night at 8 o'clock, in the Olebe-street Church. BLUE RIDGE RAILROAD COMPANY.-The meet log of the stockholders of this company was held yesterday at the Mayor's office, Mayor Clark in the chair.
