ANOTHER HOTEL.-Both of our nae hotels, the Charleston and Pavilion, are crowded from bas: ment to attic; numbers of persons have been turn? ed away, and have had to seek accommodation in private boarding houses, and yet the crowd of strangers d: es not diminish. Ic is very evident now that Charleston is pecoming popu ar with the travelling public, and when tho Savannah and Charleston Bailroad is completed to Savannah, as will bo the case in lesa than twelve tr onths, three fourths of the Florida travel will pass through this city. But we have not enough hotel accommoda? tion, a Ld the Mills House, one of the finest hotel buildings in the South, has it i doors hermotl ally sealed. This is not as it should he. The Mills House can be made to pay well, and it is to the in. ttrest of the ci y to hare it opened at once. We hope that tome one will loo* into the matter at once, for unless Charleston i* made attractive, we cannot expect to retain the large transient buslnsi which we now havo. A pus', ing an i popular mau coub have tho M:lls House open again in a very short time, end wc luve co doubt that it can be rented on favorable terms. r?oTEL ARRIVALS. The State not entitlod to tax the t-ame property twice, and, the returns were made under a misapprehension the law c .used by its prolixity and ambiguity, tl persons assessed should be allowed to withdra their returns and substitute correct ones in th? stead. This ls a just claim, and we prcsun that the County Assessor will make no difflcul about it.
