MASONIC LEOTDKE.-A large number of tl Masonic Fraternity assembled last evening at k sonic Hall, where it had been announced a lee tu would be delivered on the principles cf Masoni by Brother N. Levin, P. M.. of Friendship Lodj No. 9. After referring to the vat iou? opinions of Masoi writers relative to the antiquity of the order, a demonstrating some of them as cited in bibil texts, from the earliest history of creation, t . e I rorer piocaeded to descant upon the three gr tenets of a Mason's profession, ''Brotherly Lo Belief and Truth." and illustrated these Masoi principles in a forcible and eloquent style. The f lowing extract from the lecture will commend its not only to th? consideraron of the members of I craft, but to all men: No Masonic community oan prosper that alto its poor to suffer ; lt idleness be the cause, it is c dury as Masons to reclaim the idle, not desi] them. If vice, passion, sensuality, or weakness tho cause, lt ls atti] the interest as wall as tb ? duty Masons to reform tbe erring, and to enlighten I ignorant, to strengthen the feeble and to suet) those who totter and fall without hope. Masonio relief has no charity in it that doc s i look with indulgent Dyes upon tho infirm Wes of < nature. It ia tho weak, and not the strong, that must upboid; it is the vicious wo must reclaim, i the virtuous. Trae masonio charity teaches us never to re bi those who suffer from their errors, bot to pour ki noss lato their wounds, and lead thom gently bi to the temple ol virtue, from which in an evil h< they strayed. The lecture was warmly received and commune marked attention, and we anders and it is the mt tion of the Lodge to order its publication, ai pruning lt of those parts which can only be revel to brethren of the mystic tie. Through a long series of years, and among most ol the ra oe? of men, it bas risen higher and higher in their estimation, as it baa become bettor known. Its uniform character and power to cure the Tarions af? fections of the lunga and throat, hare made it known as a reliable protector against thom. While adapted to milder forms of disease and to yonag children, it is at the same timo the mest effectual remedy that can be gi Y eu for incipient consumption, and the dan? gerous affections of the throat and longs.
