Ihe jury, before whom the cas?is being heard, has been adjourned until to-morrow at ten o'olook, when tko testimony may bo concluded, and then all tho particulars will bo given to the public. THEATRE-ANNIE DELAND.-Last evening Miss Annie Deland made her first appearance in tiro city before one of the largest and most fashion? able audiences that have assembled at the theatre during Mr. Gilbert's \r osent season. Tho play was the ?? Lancashire Lass," by Henry J. Byron, of Lon? don, which brought out the entire strength of the dramatic company, and was well,acted throughout, all the porfoimers seeming to exe it themselves to render full justice to their various characters; but* of course, the at tout iou of the au dence centred upon Miss Deland, who acted the lead ng character of tho play, "Ruth Kirby," in a very natural man? ner, and with an evident appreciation of her part. Miss Deland possesses a flne stage presence, is young and good looking, and has a voice of remark? able purity ot tone and thoroughly under control. Judging from the fine toilets this lady displayed during the evening she possesses a rich and valu? able wardrobe, tho created a marked sensation last evening, and we expect to see f<ll houses during her brief engagement, which is limited to 6ix nights. Courier, in a leading article, I went to tee Mr. Gilbert's troupe perform in the Hibernian Hall, and was vary much ploasecl in every way-the acting and scenery were good-but. to my astonish mont, hardly any one was there.
