NASHVILLE, January 21.-COTTON-The week opened at 28a28%e tor low middling, and after con? siderable fluctuation, during which as low as 27 and as high as 28%c was reached, lt closes qHiet but steady at 28c for the same grade. Cotton opened thia morning quiet, and remained so throughout the day. There watt an advance et %d in Liverpool and %c in Now York, but lt had no tttect here except to maka holders firmer in their views. We give the following summary of the day's busi? ness: lteceived 445; shipped 384; sold 76 bales. The closing quotations were as follows: Low mid? dling 28; good ordinary 27%; oidluary 27o. The market is almost baie, and it is im? possible to fill orders, which are cernina io quite ?icely iroin Alabama and Georgia. The sales to-dav did not exceed 1600 bushels. Oats are in good local and shippii-g demand, but moderato supply. Owing to the extreme scarcity cf wheat prices rule rather high. A lot of 1240 bushels red, from the Caney Fork conn tr v, was sold from store to one ot our local millers lo-day at 91 90. Bys changed hands during the week to a limited amount, at 91 20al 36. SAVANNAH, January 21.-Our market has ?bown this week little variaton. at any f mo not mere than a half cent, and while Europe and the North have receded sxd rt acted %d in the former and %o in tho latter, we have been pretty steady at front 28a28%c, with, of course, some Irregularity, although few sales have been made on the basis of the outside figure. We have, by auction ?ales, been as low as 27% for middling, but not quot ably so, and some cottons have been held at 28%e at same time.
