January 8 Jmmai ?t? (Eemmcrnal. Tin*, t- laurieston -Honey Market. THURSDAY, January 7, 1869. The transactions during the week have chiefly been in city stock, of-which a large amount bas changed hands, at from 67 to 6?. Tho expectation that the Supreme Court would grant tho mandamus in the city election case, caused an unseated feeling, bat the expected effect was discounted, and when the result was mtdc known yesterday the market was not unfavorably affected. Early in the morning the price was 53 to CO, and after the news that tbe writ ht-1 beon granted a sale of $10,000 city stock ra effected at CO. We do not anticipate auy perm st neut decline in tho unrket, as a consequence of the issue of the writ, but public uneasiness may cause a pressure or sales, and a consequent temporary de? cline. South Carolina Railroad stock has beon in demand, and shows an upward tendency. Soles were made of half shares, on Wednesday, at 22, and of a lot of about 10 old shares, yesterday, at 44.
