The Charleston Cotton Market. There was an active demand for the staple yesterday, with sales ef near 200 bales, at very foll and, in some eases, advancing prices; but the latter was not sufficient ly general tor us to quote the market higher. We, there? fore, renew our quotations of jesterday : Strict Middling.31 Middling.30 Savannah Market. SAVANNAH, August 16.-UOTTON.-During the past week the cotton market bas been dull, prices ranging principally from 27 to 32%o. New York Middhn? has been quoted 'ecently at 3tto, and to-day the same quality has been offered at 31 % to S2o The g:ueral estimates of the approaching crop ran ge fr >m 1,800,000 to 1,900,000 bales, and planters generally expect to realize about 30o per lb for Middlings. It is now a mai ter of certainty that there will be very little cotton in the South if the old stock on the 1st day of September next. If the estimate of tn e crop as given above shall prove to ?e correct, estimating tho currency on the basie of its present value BB compared with guld and sterling exchange, it appears highly probabl.. that the average price of middling coitou during the next twelve months will not be below 26 -o 30c. per lb. MEMPHIS, August 14.-COTTON.-The market yester? day opened dull and heavy, with no demand and little offering. Foreign Financial and Commercial. LONDON MONEY MABKET. Contrary to expectations and hopes, the Bank rate re? mains at 10 per cent. There is an aotive discount demand for payments on the 4th. a.-The private bank of Kennedy dc Co, of Dublin, has suspended payment. Their liabilities are believed to be considerable. The market opened with an ad? vance of 8-16d, but it was subsequently lost, closing to? day dull.
