Dr. Bachman : Dkaji Sib : Bcmembering tho great interest yon felt in the welfare of tho soldiers daring the war, I have concluded to send yon the list of South Carolina soldiors buriod in our cemetery, so far as I bave made it ont. Daring the raids on oar town, one of the cemetery books having been abstracted, and the hospital books having no record of tbe removal of tho dead, I can only find ont the. other names by going to the ceme tery and taking them from the head-boards. Tho ?exton has doubtless misspelled some of the following names, and, through the oareleesness of hospital clerke, mistakes may occur. In send ing this list I have a two-fold object in view : First, to have the list corrected,, in order to pro cure the true name, company, regiment, State, Ac., of each one, to bo placed on the new head boards ; and also, by publishing this list, to re lievo the anxiety of frionds who may be ignorant of the last resting-place of their lost ones. * * s) . * ?s; a * For the satisfaction of friends, I would say that we have a Memorial Committee here, whioh commenced operations in Maro-. We found trod ground in which our brave heroes from every State were lying in a most deplorabla condition; unenclosed, desecrated by cattle and lawless boys running over it, bare of troes, grass-in short, repulsive to every feeling of the Southern women who thought of thoBO who wero lying there. We have gone forward with our work amid many difficulties and rescued the duet of our defenders from desecration, and to-day they repose in a spot pleasant to the eye; and if wo can raise the necessary funds ere winter, trees and evergreens and head-boards will be placed in the grounds. ? - ****** With high esteem, your friend, Mns. The Wigwam fou the Philadelphia Union National Convention_The Johnson Clnb of Philadelphia have pitched their wi r warn at the intersection of Twentieth-street and Girard Ave nue. The builder has at work a largo force of carpenters, and the building will be completed in ten daya. The convention will assemble on t 14th. A deacriptioD of the building is thjjs/glv-n in the New York News : Ita outside dimeiiBiona aro one hundred and fort v-ftix by one hundred and eixty-flvo feet. It will be constructed of ooards, aid will be need as a ball for mass meetings during tbe coming cam paign. The interior will consist of a vestibule, an amphitheatre, two galleries and four ante-rooms. Into the vestibule a door twelvo feet wido will open from Girard Avenue. A door of equal size will lead to the amphitheatre and lower gallery, and a private entrance will open into the ladies' gallery above. Tho ante-rooma will be need for committee purposes. At the head of the building will bo placed the speaker's desk, and on either aide the tables of the reportera. The amphi theatre will be aeventy feet by one hnndred and forty. From it the galleries will riso in nearly the same minner aa the seats in the square for tho 1th of July celebration. Tho capacity of the build ing will be over ten thousand people. The largest audience ever seen in tho Academy of Music could be seated in one wing of tho immense galleries, rho standing room upon tho floor will accom mo la to three thoustnd, while there will be seats for seven thousand., The gallci iur will be supported by iron pillara sixtcou feet apart. These will be lung with evergreens and festooned with flower? luring the sessions of the o nvention. Within a fortnight it will be assembled in the largest build ing ever known in Philadelphia, excepting the limitary fair structure.
