On Friday morning last wo quoted Middling to Good Middling Cotton st 3?o. to 37o. per potind. At the. samo time tho decline announced by tho steamship Persia was pabllshod, which, in a groat measure, suspended opsrations, only about 30 bales being sold during the dsy, at rates about one (1) cent per pound lowor. On Saturday this decline became generally established, and transactions to the extent of asu bales took placo. On Monday buyers wero insisting on s further concession in price, and only about 170 ba'cs were sold, part of which were re-pscks, at 23c. to 29c. per pound, the mark?t closing depressed, with a "downward tendency. On Tuesday there was an In? crea'od stock offering, and some 400 bales changed, hands dnrlng the day, at prices in many Instances about ono (l) reut off. On Wednesday about 220 bales wero disposed of, at an additional fall In prico of ono (I) cent per pound, tho market closing unsettled. Yester day about 300 bales were sold, at from 26c for Low Ordinary to 31c. for Middling, and 33c. to 33c. per pound for Strict Middling Ootton.
