Thomas Martin, Captain Lcigbton, sailed from New York in Oc tober, wi?i a cargo of lumber, for tin's port, consigned to Mr. D. J. Sturgcs. On the 23d October, between Capo Lookout and the Frying Pan, experienced the late severe easterly gale, during which the vessel sprung a leak, and while throwing the dock load overboard, the schooner war knocked on her beam ends, the mainmast breaking into three pieces, and the rigging being cut away to Tighten the vessel, t'.o foremast went overboard. Bhe then ramu up full of water, and vflth tho -decks swept. The schooner having got into shoal water, tho anchors were let go; but she dragged past the Frying Pan, and, after seven days of severo suffering on the part of the offlcors and men, during which several vessels passed tho schooner without noticing her, she drifted ashore oil Folly Island to the north of Georgetown, from which point Capt. JLclghton has come to this city. During tho tim? ?io, crew and officers wero on Uio wreck, they sub sisted on a little salt pork, which they Ashed out of tho buld, and they have lost everything.
