Mitchell, died at tho home of her pa rents at tho Orr Cotton Mill on Tues day night, 15th inst., after s\ brief ill ness with miningitis. On Wednesday the remains were carried to First Creek Church and interred. Dixie Chapter, Daughters of the Confederacy, of this city, has issued its second "Booklet," a copy of which has been presented to us and for which we return many thanks. Tho first page contains a good picture of the late Gen. Wade Hampton, and the "Booklet" is full of interesting nnd valuable historical reading matter. Mrs. Evaline Gambrell, widow of the late Enoch Gambrell, died sudden ly last Friday afternoon at the home of Mr. K. A. Coleman, where she was spending the day. She was a most es timable Christian lady, and had long been a faithful member of the Broad mouth Baptist Church. She was about 07 years old, and Bhe leaves ten chil dren to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held Saturday at Broad mouth Church.-Honea Path Chroni cle At a called meeting of the South Carolina Presbytery beld on the city last week, the pastoral relation exist ing between Rev. F. H. Wardlaw and the Piedmont and Slabtown Churches was dissolved. Mr. Wardlaw was elected at the meeting of Synod'.in October aa superintendent of home missions for Sonth Carolina, and will enter upon his new work the first o? next year.
