According to the ligures of tho public weighers the wagon receipts in this market ag gregate a total of 20,344 bales, which are about 2,000 bales less than the re ceipts of tho preceding year. Wo doubt if there is a person in the Coun ty who can equal this beet in size. At a meeting of tho City Council last night Mayor Tolly, ?. M. Kucker, Jr., and R. S. Ligon were appointed a com mittee to go to Columbia and meet tho railroad commission and some of tho officials of tho Southern Railway to morrow in reference to tho through train service. We have several truck farms and dairies in the County, and tho indus tries are reported as successful. There is a consensus of opinion that a poultry farm nenr tho city would provo protit ablo and a great convenience to the city, a ready market. The demand is active and will grow. Chas. M. Lee, whieh occurred at her homo in Contervillo Township last Thursday morning, was a greac shock to many of her friends, and brought sorrow to a large circle of relatives. It was known that Bhe had been sick for several weeks, but her condition was 'not con sidered serious until two or three days preceding her death. MrB. Leo WUB the third daughter of the late David M. Watson and about :?t years of age. I In her girlhood she joined the Baptist Church, and throughout her life was a most devoted and exemplary member. She possessed many noble virtues of both mind and heart, and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of ac quaintances, who will long cherish her memory and who deeply sympathizo with the grief stricken family in their sore bereavement.
