Bridges received prompt attention from a physician but never regained consciousness. Magis trate J. C. Mitchell held an inquest on Saturday, and Howard's version of the affray was corroborated by several witnesses. It is said that Bridges bad been drinking heavily recently and was drunk Friday afternoon. Howard made no effort to escape and was brought, to this city and lodged in jail Saturday ??vening, lt is generally felt that the homicide, was.iustitiable.
