Hambree, after an illness of about eighteen months willi consumption, died at the residence of lier husband in CVnterville township lust Sunday after noon. Miss Jane Fieeman, a highly respected ady, died at hor brother-in-law's home in n this County on Saturday morning, 12th list., after a painful illness of thirty-six lours. She was forty-two years old, and lad been a member of the Methodist Church br ten years. 8he leaves an aged mother ind a large circle of relatives and friends to nourn her unexpected departure. Mrs. Nancy Carpenter, relict of '.he late Dr. F. G. Carpenter, departed this life at ['elzer on Monday, 14th inst. Ten weeks igo she was taken with typhoid fev?r, and luffered intensely until relieved by deatb. 3hc was a consistent member of the Bap ist Church, and was highly esteemed by ill of ber acquaintances. Her remains vere laid to rest in Big Creok cemetery on nat Tuesday morning. Mr. F. Marion Poore died at Iiis resi lence in Belton township last Saturday light, after a protracted illness with con sumption. His remains wore interred ?villi Masonic honors in the Shady Grovo Churchyard on the day following his death, Rev. R. W. Burta conducting the funeral lervices. Ha was esteemed and highly re .peeled by al! who knew him, and his death s regretted by a host of friends and rela .ives. Mr. Henry N. White, an aged^ and re ipected citizen of the Fork, residing at shallow Ford, died at his residence last Sunday. He had been in declining health por somo time, but until a short time before ils death was able to attend to the ordinary meincss about his place. Mr. White was i nativa of this County, and was for many pears a consistent member of the Methodist Church. He leaves many relatives and rienda who will cherish his memory. As many of our readecs are infatuated with Judge Furtnan's success as a fanner, we Rive below bis formula for making bis celebrated compost : Take thirty bushels well rotted stable manure or well rotted orgr.nic matter as leaves, muck, eic., and ??catii r it about three inches thick upon a piece of <round so sit uated that waif will not stand on it, but shed off in every direction. The thirty bushels will weigh about niuo bundred pounds. Take two hundred pounds of good acid phosphate, which cost me $22.50 per ton delivered, making the two hun dred poonda cost 92.26, and one hundred pounds kainit, which cost me, by the ton, $14 delivered, or seventy cents for one hun dred pounds, and mix the acid phosphate nod kainit thoroughly, then scatter evenly on thc manure. Take next thirty bushels of green cotton seed and distribute them evenly over the pile and wet thom thor oughly ; ??k? again two bundred pounds of ' acid phosphate and one hundred poands of kainit. ndx and spread over tho seed, begin again ou the manure and keep on that way. building up your heap layer by layer, until you get it as high ns convenient. Then cover with six inches of rieh earth from fence corners, ?nd leave at least six weeks : when ready to butil to the Held cut with a spade or nick-axe square down and mix as thoroughly as possible. Now we have thirty bushels of manure weighing niuo hundred pounds of chemical in lue second layer, ni.u these two layers combined form the perfect compost.
