Prof. W. H. Evans commenced tho in struction of his largo class in vocal music on last Monday evci lng. The class, aa well as tho invited visitors, were delighted with the manner and method of instruction. The members of Anderson Democratic Club are requested to inform any and all persons desirous of joining said Club that the Secretary's books are kept in tho IKTBL LIOENCEB office, where their names can be entered on the roll. % ? From the zeal with which tho Democrats of Anderson County have begun the work of reorganization, it does not require much of a prophet to foresee that this will be a bad year for Radicals or their twin brothers, independent candidates, in Anderson Couti The Anderson Dfimorrstic Club hvld nu enthusiastic meeting last Saturday eve lng. The speeches were all of th? right metal. A firm determination to succeed in the contest, and to hold in utter contempt all independent candidate.?, characterized the meeting. It will be well for all interested to re member that to-day (Thursday) is the last tiny for persons to' make their retorna'of tamable property tp the Town Council. Those who have not done so will promote their interest by attending to thia business before the sun goes down. A sudden death occurred in Town on last Monday. Mary McAllster, on aged colored woman, while walking the street with a child in her arms, fell dead. It ia supposed her sudden death resulted from a disease, of the heart.- Mary was an old resident of tho the town, and was respected by all who knew her. In another column will be found a tall for the reorganization of a military compa ny at Pendleton. This company has ren dered ta thc County luid'State Invaluable services In the past, and will again, under tho guidance of energetic and dUcrcet lead ers, maintain the distinction which tiiey have already acquired. The Democrats of Anderson County havo risen superior to all personal considerations, and the patriotic fires of 1870 are r?anim?t ir.g every ciuli. Ail our people ressi^ tba force of old Kentucky's motto, "United we stand, divided we fall,'.' and tho result will be a solid Democracy, a grand canvass and a magnificent victory this fall. .A reorganization of the Rock MiUs Dem ocratic Club was effected or, lest 8artrday. Mr. Georgo W. Miller was elected President, and Mr. James McLeea Vice President. The old enthusiasm marked the proceedings of this C! u?>, and left no prospect for inde pendent candidates who, by onion with the Radicals, might hope to defeat tho Demo crats. ; .'?
