It is a notorious fact that the common school system os administered for the lasl few years under Radical rule was a misera ble failure, beoefitting nobody except tin thieves who handled the swag. And it is admitted, I believe, that tho system wit have to be re-organized and placed upon < solid and useful basis. Divide all the townships into schon districts of an equal number of square mile (say four,) and let the State build a scboo house and furnish it with suitable desks, tb school house to be huilt as near the centr ! as possible, and heated hy means of a Btov placed in tho centre of the building.
