Resolved, That s primary election be held by the various Democratic dabs in Ander son County on Thursday, 19th day of Octo ber, 1876, for th? parp?se of nominating candidates for the following office?, to wit : Four members of the House of Representa tives, Clerk of the Court, Probate Judge, Sheriff, School Commissioner, Coroner, and feb ree County Commissioners. Resolved, That no candidato shall be voted for in said primary election, and if voted for, auch votes shall not be counted, unless such candidato shall, at tho time of tho election, be a member of some Democratic Club in Anderson County, and pledge himself to abide tho result of tho primary election -md support the nominees of the party. Resolved, That only m ex?bera of tho Dem ocratic Clubs shall bo entitled to vote in the primary election ; and the Secretary of each Club shall have tho roll of bia Club at tho place of holding the election, and all legal .VIM.) Resobrad, That the candidate or candidates receiving the hlghost number of votes for any of tlie offices aforesaid shall be deemed ?nd declared the Democratic nominee or nominees, as the cons may be> for auch offices. Res?mxd, That, for tho purpose of holding suh election, tbs various Democratic Clubs shall meet at or near their regular place of meeting on the day aforesaid, and proceed to receive votes for candidates as proposed for the various offices designated. Resolved, That tho polls for the primary election shall be kept open from 8 o'clock A. M. until 4 o'clock P. Resolved, That ono of tho managers of election at each Club shall be designated by tho other managers to bring the poll list ?nd certificate of result to deposit with tb? We aro in receipt of a courteous invitation from the ladies of Greenville to attend the Lady Washington Tea Party, which is to bo given by them on Tuesday evening, Oat. 17th. The proceeds of tho entertainment, aro to bo devoted to the completion of tho Confederate Monument, and the manege. mont in ander tho direction of Udlea whoas patriotic efforts have been largely instru mental !n furthering the memorial shaft since its inception. It will donbtlcs provo a brilliant affair, aa extensive preparations aro making to render the occasion worthy of the cause in which tho ladies are enlisted. The thirteen booths will represent tito orig? insl States, with tho mottoes, emblems and productions of each suitably displayed, and these booths will be presided over by ladies of unsurpased beauty and attractions, whom costumes will awaken m?morisa of tho Rev olution, when powdered hair and court train? were worn by moid and matron.
