[published MX bequest.] ' To the Baptist Churches and -Ministers of the Saiuda Association. Dear Brethren : The time for the meeting of your body is drawing near, and we take tins early opportunity of laying before ygu the claims of the State Mission cause, with the ear? nest hope that wo shall thoreby enlist your in ,terest in the matter. The Mission Board has four missionaries now in the field, and the work which the3? men are doing is both im portant and encouraging, and \ve are laying plans-for new work, which we hope to carry into execution just so soon as we see the way open to do so. What we shall do in the coin ing months will depend largely upon the way the brethren remember us in sending up funds to their Associations. And as many of your churches are noted for their readiness to* con triUnte to every good work, we earnestly beg that when yon are making up .your contribu? tions to send to the Association, you wjll give our Board a place in your liberalities. We affectionately urge you, brethren, to remember us; and we also ask each church to send up one dollar for the jjrintiag of the Convention minutes, and we promise that you shall receive your share of them when they are printed. Wo will Be grateful to the ministering breth? ren who see this appeal if they will bring it to , the attention of their churches. * . We will be present at the meeting of your Association, to receive the free-will offerings of fhe churches, and we trust you will so re? member us that we shall be permitted to make a good report of you before the brethren of the State. Your fellow-laborer, . ? A. W. LAMAR, General Agent. SPECIAL NOTICES. RAILROAD MEETING. THE celebrity of the January Infirmary, established in Murphrcesboro, Tenn., in 1,848, associated the above name with the treat? ment of Cancer until they became synony? mous, both passed away with the war. But i great discoveries, like truths, live forever. Dr. J. O. January, inheriting his father's talents, and improving on his experience, has achieved a success in advance, of their former history, Owing to his increased patronage he has perma? nently located in St. Louis; the numerous let? ters he is receiving, and large arrival of pa? tients, justify his move to this contral point. We would advise all afflicted with Cancer, Scrofula, Fistula, Piles, &c, to apply to him, as he possesses perfect control of those diseases, without pain or the knife.
