The following is the mode of cultiva? tion: It was thoroughly broken up 12 inches deep, and laid oil'in row s 111 feet wide, and tho Fertilizer applied in tho drill, then bedded on it on the 15th of May, and planted the same day, but owing to tho cool and dry weather, did not come up to a stand'until about tho 1st of Juno. First working it was run around witli a half shovel and partially trimmed out with a hoe. Sec? ond working it was run around with a3 inch grub, 12 inches long, and the middles thrown out with a sweep 18 inches wide. One furrow to a row and thinned to a stand with a hoe about 12 inches between the stocks, and afterwards it was' plowed every two weeks with a sweep 18 inch? es wid-3, and hoed each time, until it was worked live times. The following is a correct state? ment or the Cotton picked : First Picking, 254; Second Picking, 110; Third Picking, 4IS; estimated amount of unopened matured bolls, 810. Total, 1,923.
