ffltara IntcIIigenar. A Word to Delinquents. We-aref ooinpelled to remind people of de fective'memories that many of their subscrip? tions to this journal have already expired, and that we are in need of the money. In fact, a large number of persons begged sufficient time during, the spring and summer, that they'migh. realize from their growing crops, and then we should certainly be paid. But they have for? gotten these facts, and ignored their promises. We would gladly indulge every good, clever fellow until the day of judgment, were it possi? ble and practicable, for we dislike to "dun" our subscribers very much. But there is a limit to our forbearance, even; and unless de? linquents come forward and pay their indebt ness, many of them will be minds the visits of J the InteUwencer, and[in its stead, we shall be comp^^dgt^etid ajawful-ojff qejr 'to nldker col? lections. Take this hint, if your time has ex? pired, and bring on the greenbacks. ?^4. Suggestion from Georgia.?The AjElan^ ta (G*:). Constitution, in commenting upon the" condition of affairs in this State, makes this novel suggestion as to the mode of evading payment of taxes : Bqfrwgrbeg to add a suggestion'or two; ? Sup? pose all tax-payers refuse to pay. Then, as a , matter of course, their property would be lev- | ied on and advertised for sale. Then let a com? mittee.be appointed in each county, to select a dozen or more insolvent men to attend the sale, and when the first piece of property is put up for, sale, by-the sheriff, let these, insolvent men-) commence to bid on it, and continue to run'it, even to millions if necessary, until the lawful hoars of sale expires, when the sheriff, would have to suspend until next sale day. This would prevent even the first piece of property from being sold, and, of course, the sheriff could not go auy further on his list. If the tax lists were re-advertised for next sale day, repeat the process, and so on ad infinitum. It is no new idea of ours. A similar thin? was done long ago in this county, where an admin? istrator undertook to sell out a large part of this city nnder an old claim, and was defeated by our citizens by the process described above. There is in this no resistance_to law.-but sim? ply the tax-payers availing themselves of their ?
