Miscellaneous Advertisements PROCLAMATION. By his Excellency, JAMES L. ORB, Gov? ernor of South Carolina : "WHEREAS information Las been communicated to this^Departinent that a scries of outrages have ?been perpetrated on sundry persons, white and colored, in the Districts of Laurcns, Greenville, Anderson and Abbeville, by three desperate out Jaws, to wit: -Brown, known as Texas Brown, by - Sullivan, of Laurehs, and by ?? Bur kett, alias Burkhead, alias Wallace, Wherein the lives of many persons have been threatened and the proporty of others pillaged; and whereas it Jhasbeen represented that Elias Brown, afreedman, has been murdered by the two former; and where? as the said Brown committed an assault and bat? tery on the person of Lewis Clark, a frcedman, witft intent tp kill, at Cokesbury, 6.0.; and where? as the said Brown, Sullivan and Burkctt, alias Wallace, perpetrated a daring robbery upon Jesse ' French, a citizen of Greenville, S. C; and Where? as the saii Brown and'Burkctt assaidted, with in? tent to kill, sundry citizens of Anderson District; and whereas these desperate outlaws", have com? mitted other acts of rapine, plunder and outrage, and have thus far eluded and avoided arrest by the civil authorities for their manifold crimes : Now, know ye, th'?i.I, JAMES L.
