S. C. OCTOBER4,189o. HOUTH CAROLINA’S UNEQUAL ED ATTRACTIONS. In order to induce immigrants of n desirable character to settle in a coun try, its attractions must be made known, and persistently kept before the outside public. The main secret of the immense immigration to the Western States and Territories has been the mistimed advertising that these parts of the country have had The West’s attractions have been kept before the public by the immi gration bureaus, aud consequently for some years past it has secured the great majority of people who were in search of homes. The people of the North, and also of Europe, are now beginning to find out for themselves,, however, that South Carolina actual ly offers greater . inducements to im migrants and capitalists than any part of the country. They have discover d that we have here a section of country unsurpas sed in healthiness of climate by any other in the world, and where (he climate admits of outdoor labor throughout the entire year; a toil as fertile and varied as can he found any where; a country dotted with an abundance of churches and schools; many lines of railway in operation and more being built, affording quick and easy transportation of the pro ducts of (he soil to the market; mines of unsurpassed richness awaiting de velopment; vast forests of virgin ♦ (•ihpr ready for the axe; and what is „f II e utmost , 0 st u —-settled and cultivated populaiu,...
